Hi All

2005 TD4 Freelander 1

I have the emissions EML light on since I ran low on diesel. I have tried various scanners including an icarsoft and nothing comes up with a code so I can't reset the light.

Has anyone come across this problem and how do you reset the light?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Can you read the live data?

Unfortunately no, the only data i could get was the ABS and Immobiliser using the iCarsoft scanner, my other scanner won't do anything.

I was so disappointed with the iCarsoft one that I have sent it back, it kept resetting itself.

That's strange. I've had an Icarsoft I930 for almost a decade, and it's been 100% reliable in that time, even after updates.
It reads everything on all the LRs I've tried it on, with the exception of the FL1 automatically transmission module, and CCU.

I don't know if it was faulty or having software issues but I had no joy at all with it. The dealer I purchased from was fantastic and we went through everything on it to try and get it to read the car but it only came up with the 2 systems.

If the fuel filter had water in it would it throw a fault light?
Isn't there a screw to let water out?

I have just been out and drained the sediment filter and replaced the fuel filter and it is no different. Starts fine just the light still showing on the dash.

I've never heard of a fault light being brought on by letting the tank run low unless it caused an issue like water in the system or a blockage. Are you sure this isn't a coincidence and the fault is totally unrelated? Is the car still driving OK?

I'm not sure what an emissions light is, can you post a photo of it?

Orange light on the left under the rev counter needle.
