Right guys I would just like to say as you can see I am a complete newbie I know nothing about off-roading (although plenty on motorbikes so I guess a bit).
To satisfy my insurance I need a few Mods. I have a Bull bar on the front of the Discovery I have just purchased but that is it.
I also have to join an Off-Road Club which I am happy to do but I know nothing about Electrics because i have a fear of them after sticking my finger in a light socket whilst standing in a sink of water. My mother was washing and hosing me down after caked in mud. If it was not for the fact that she just had hold of me at the time to lift me out I would be toast but as it is the fear of god is imprinted I will not even wire a plug or change a light bulb...It’s just ingrained in my head.
Enough of the sob story but I need a few spots on my landy and my fourtrak. Probably wrong sport I can hear some say but what the hell I can pay to get it done after all we all have phobias don’t we.
So I am just asking for a bit of help here. I hope you understand.

PS i Fly Birds of Prey so perhaps i can re pay in some way with a day out if interested.

Haha!

Disconnect your battery first before doing any work. If you buy a fog light wiring kit (cheap enough) they will come with instructions of how to wire up. Or someone might have a simple wiring diagram on here perhaps, it's not complicated :)

Sureterm Ins asked me if I was a member of any clubs.... told them, 'Landyzone' dot co dot uk. That was good enough for them. I would look for a mobile auto electrician (far cheaper than a workshop) he will have them wired up legal (ie to main beam flasher) within 90 minutes, fused and safe. Cost me £35 and well worth it. I dont mind oil but no point in ****in about with electrics, get a propper job if you aint sure.

I'd quite happily wire your spots up for you... but... it might be a bit of a trek for you and be cheaper to get a garage to do it than spend money on fuel.

But it is very easy. And the joy with cars is it is all 12v. So, you are very very unlikely to hurt yourself. most you'll get is a little tickle.

That's very kind of you. I need to take my daughter back to Sheffield University next week so you might be on...Thanks
