I had a diesel leak, jacked the car up and realised it was the green diesel feed pipe, I lowered the fuel tank enough to remove the pipe (about an inch) and feed in the replacement, the vehicle turned over normally before I started but after replacing the pipe and the diesel filter the ignition is dead!!

The only electrical connection I removed was the sensor at the bottom of the diesel filter which was refitted to the new filter.

Is there an earth strap in this area? When I lie under the car and look up to where the 4 fuel pipes run over the top of the fuel tank there is an electrical connector not connected to anything it has 2 wires black and white but I didn't disconnect it, is there any other electrics/earth’s that could be damaged when the fuel tank and retaining bracket went back up?
At the moment I have no dash lights no remote locking no power to anything .... electrically it’s dead!

Have you put a secondary earth strap directly from the battery to the engine yet? Even a temp lead using a jump lead would be a start, most of us go from the bolt that goes from the battery lead where it meets the chassis and then over to the timing case, well worth doing.

The the earth straps are from the chassis rail to the gearbox so I doubt you disturbed them.

Is your battery still good?

If it's not connected to anything from what would you disconnect it ...???

If you'll watch more carefully i bet that you'll see that the white wire has a blue strap on it.... if it's so it's the plug for the FBH pump .... if it was accidentally shorted it can cause trouble.... for now check fusible link FL8 maybe it's blown, if it is replace it and make sure the wiring to that plug you found has no short to ground close to the area where you worked or if you have FBH fitted unplug that connector cos maybe you mixed up something with it's pump which is connected to FL8 the main feed for the ignition switch
