Hello,
I'm Simon from Cheshire. I have recently bought a discovery 3 from a friend. The vehicle had had the emergency handbrake release pulled and so the hand brake wasn't working. The previous owner decided to remove the actuator but then got a bit stuck and offered the vehicle to me. I have checked the actuator and it seemed to work perfectly, so have refitted it, rebuilt the rear brakes and adjusted them. Job done, or so I thought. When I pull the ecb switch the actuator runs pulling the cable but just as it gets tight, rewinds it's self. It repeats this cycle 4 or 5 times then stops. Dash says parking brake fault. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone come across this before? Thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
