no...but did put one in 2.5 diesel defender.
No reason why you can't put one in, I don't think. They are available from most Motor Factors...or that well known online auction site :D

If you use a leccy pump then remove the lift pump, I'm sure you've done that anyhow.
The pump will be more beneficial at the back near the tank.
Personally I'd go to a breakers and get a inertia switch off a rover metro (just under the screen passenger side) so if you have a bump the pump shuts off.

I did this in a my Series trialler.

You will need a fuel pressure regulator and wind it down to about 2psi, any higher and the fuel pressure will force the float valve open. Also consider putting in a T-piece at the carb and plumb in a return pipe, this will ensure a circulation of cool fuel which helps with hot running.

I wired mine via some relays so that the pump turned off when the oil light was on and visa versa, but would run when I energised the starter motor solenoid. An inertia switch from 'just any' car can be a double edged sword off road......particularly in a trials motor :)

Andys quite right, connecting the pump to the oil light via a relay is a better idea, I'd not thought about the off road bit affecting the inertia switch, you dont wanna bump into a big puddle and end up with no fuel.
A injection vehicle pump will need a pressure reg, but if you use a pump from an older car or one designed to be used with a carb, the output pressure is a lot lower and you wont need the reg.
