Hi Guys,

I have decided to fit a leccy fan. The viscous coupling one is already off.

I want to be able to switch it on from inside the car as an over-ride.

What's the best make to get please?

hi mate
i have a kenlow on my old 87 90 (fitted a 200tdi disco engine) worked a treat for me ;)

Kenlowe, Pacet , are the best ;I have Zirgo bought from the States beeing a cheaper version, used for hotrods. Kenlowe also have a HD version, seems to be very reliable. I advice not to use the tube type thermostat as will always leak. I use the one placed in the top hose can see it on x-eng site.

If you use it for wading CharlesY the overide should be to switch it OFF.

If the temp setting is right and the temp switch is used with a relay then it should be reliable. There should not be a need to override the thermostat unless you are worried about reliabilty issues.

My 200tdi has a fan from a (I think) renault van, it bolted straight in and looks factory, the 200 runs cool anyway and only comes on during long hill climbs and rambla racing. At all other times it is off I have yet to be caught in traffic for more than 10 minutes but do not expect issues.

JMHO

regards

Dave

Thanks all.
Think I will go the whole hog and buy a Kenlowe tomorrow.
What the Hell?

Well in the end I didn't.
I took advice and ordered one from MM-4x4.com.
The whole "KIT" cost just under £100 delivered.
I am going to fit it as soon as it arrives, and fit a manual over-ride ON switch to it.
