He is looking at number 6 here.

Cheers

Isn't it just 2 10mm bolts? Think I managed with a little 1/4 drive and a lot of tea, fags and swearing......
Well that's me fooked packed up smoking last month ...I'll have a look tomorrow another day another dollar.. did you notice the mounting O/S does it have a rubber bush in it ? Mines just a metal clamp with enough room to put my finger through the bottom?? It's on the rear of the head btw cheers tony.. ps did you remove it ?

I don't think it's got bushes....the bolts go through the 2 bottom tabs on number 6 in the picture. The top tab has a little press in fixing that the loom attaches too.....I think.
Can't remember if it made much difference but there's a piece of sound deadening/engine trim that's also bolted to the back, I took mine off when I was doing something else and threw it over the hedge.

May restrict you if yours is still there?

Did the sound proofing cause any noise in the disco? If not I'll throw it over the hedge with my Jd bottles ..and bud cans btw did you remove or was it a fix?

Did you have any noise in the disco after removing the soundproofing? If not I'll throw it over the hedge with the empty jd bottles and the the bud cans !! Btw did you remove pipe 6 or was it just a fix?

As i said in your intro post, I also threw mine away. Darn thing is a waste of time and effort. Never noticed a difference in noise tbh.

Cheers

I think I took the sound deadening off off when I did the rocker gasket and injector loom just to make sure that the half moon on the rocker cover seated properly. Couldn't comment on noise difference. I've got no carpets and mud terrains, sound proofing is not high on my list!

Yeah I had those muddys do rumble a bit

LOL.

Behind the engine normally bolted to the rear of it by 2 iirc8mm bolts is a plastic panel that has foam inside it. It is not attached to the bulkhead.

It may be someone has already removed it.

Cheers

you may find this site useful as well.

This guy wrote some great how to's,
http://www.discovery2.co.uk/Injector_harness.html

But to do with your current question.
open this attachment and look at page 13, you will see the panel we are descibing at the rear of the engine in the photo.

Cheers
Yeah it's gone !! Just the exposed pipes that are not connected to any thing at all I'll sleep on it , watching a terrible football match don't understand why there's a guy who sent down Middlesbrough down in charge of England who's won nothing .
