P38A EAS Sensors

1995 V8 200k
I have been getting problems with FL and RR sensors out of range intermittently for a while
Thinking of cutting out connectors.
Anyone done this?
Worth it?

Cutting out the a post connectors can only do good and rules out one trouble spot

Yes but Dont think the sensors go through there tho ta for reply

Earlier ones can be swapped from one side to other and recalibrated I believe. The sensor track wears and can produce a dead spot. Swapping to the other side gives access to unworn track.

Its the later ones, after 99 that can be swapped I think
Mine are relatively new
Less than 20k

Post 97 can be swapped side to side.

Worth checking the sensors with an multimeter, especially if they were cheaper sensors.

What brand? I know some of the cheaper ones can give dodgy readings.

Cant remember the brand but they came from Island 4 x 4
Seems to be only the two that give problems and they were replaced together cos old ones had same problem.
Very soon after starting I drive over a very rutted far track, could this be the problem?
When I leave work and I am on a normal road it seems to be ok

yep classic signs of dodgy sensors.

My RHF sensor would only play up on rough roads.
