But they won't neccessarily be made of the right material:)

Nitrile rubber is more or less industry standard, ok to 120 degrees c. Used extensivly throughout the aircraft industry as standard fit O rings for air and fuel systems. Can't see a problem with those. Seeing that you can buy a mixed popular sizes box of 400+ of these for around £9.00 retail making the average price per O ring just over 2p. That is not to say of course that you will get all the sizes required. But the sizes are available from suppliers if you look around.

Obvioulsly, you can go to a o-ring stockist but how would you know the 1st time the number of o-rings and most important what size you need ( except if you have a spare valve block to dismantle). You may save 20GBP at the end for sure but imho it's definately not worth the effort. And the o-ring stockist won't have the diaphragm and the square shape o-ring for the blue wired solenoid that Symlise provide.

Yes that is true, maybe someone should list the sizes required. A suitably sized large diameter ring can be utilised for the square one. No they won't have the diaphragm, which is of course the main thing that fails. Nitrile is ok, Viton better but they still don't come to £20.00. But i suppose those who go to the trouble of buying in bulk and spliting kits off have to make something for their efforts.

Good idea. If I can find the packing list I had when I ordered my kit I'll post it up. Hopefully this won't be seen as taking away someone's bread and butter; anyone who wants a ready-sorted kit will still have the opportunity/choice to pay for the service.

FWIW I got the compressor repair kit from the dutch guys on ebay and the block repair kit from roverrenovations.

Yes Symlise (Simon Porter ) on Ebay or Rover Renovations Official Home Page (Dennis Altman) in USA.

Valve Block Rebuild Oring Kit, RVH100030

Symlise has a the diaphragm in his complete kit.:)
Be careful guys! I had a very unpleasant experience with symlise. Bought from Simon Porter liners for compressor Range Rover 2000. Put them with new piston seals. 2-3 days and the liners and the piston seals were completely killed. He refused to refund. So I lost money on the liners, the seals, and on the work to repair the compressor. And worse still look bad in eyes of my customers. He is cunning. Acts, not to get negative feedback. Stalling for time, promises, and then refuses to compensate. BE CAREFUL!!!

You want to be very careful slagging off American products in public unless you have very good evidence that it was faulty goods and not your bad workmanship. Might just open your post to find a writ:eek:
