Hey Guys

I have only owned my P38 DSE for a few days.

Don't know if you can help, but is it supposed to have a glow plug light? It shows an engine light so I need to do a fault check (just ordered tool) but no sign of glow plug light?

Definately has a glowplug light in the right hand bank of indicator lights in the dash. It does not come on when the engine is hot, or only for a fraction of a second.

As Data says glow light should only come on when engine is cold unless vehicle is fitted with hot start relay. If you don't have one at all try a new bulb first before getting all technical and looking for other causes.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys.

No glowplug light comes on whether hot or cold. I have a hot start box ready to wire in sitting here, but have a few other issues to sort first

The engine is a bit of a buggar to start whether hot or cold, so it could well be the the glow plugs are knackered.

It had an engine light on the dash when I purchased it, but am currently waiting delivery of the Faultmate diagnostics tool
