Hi folks.

I know i know its been done before.

But i need advice.

Theres what i feel excessive slop somewhare in the front of my 110.

I dont know if its the t box or half shafts or diff.

Ive taken a video of the whe drive train and hopefully one of you will know exactly what im missing.

Its about 6 mins long and has no talking.

Second question is i have an 53 (my 110 is a 52) plate disco 2 scrapper at my dads. Am i able to scavange t box of that and any other components?

Thanks.

John.

Thanks.

That's a lot of play in your driveline. To make it easier, re-check the 'play' with another person holding the opposite wheel + where play/knock can be heard through to txfr box/gearbox I'd mark and drop your propshafts, then check for play in the diff, txfr box and gearbox individually. This will help you accurately pin down the play points and what needs to be fixed. + check, clean and re-grease the props whilst they're off.

Logically, is the Landy of high mileage/lived a hard life?

Yeah thanks.

I had my dad help and he agreed that there was an issue. He syspects the center diff is shot.

So i spent yesterday pulling the engine and drivline out of our donner landy in prep for transplant in the good gear and transferbox into mine.

Then rebuild my bust one for a good spare for when one of the other two landys has an issue.

We have three on the road and one donner currently.

Life is good.

Take care

Does anyone have clever tricks to get the starter motor nuts undone?

Obstruction spanners or crows foot. Mine is slight different and I have to use a swivel socket. This is one of those jobs where everything comes out the shed in case it fits!

Thanks. A 3/8 drive socket and a 6" extension did the trick.

Gearbox out referbed and reinstalled.

Just need a wirig gremlin to bog off and fit the rear prop shaft and jobs agoodun.

Mission completed.

But nit without casualty.

Ive got a belter if a black eye
And my 255 85's are going to have to go untill i can aford new diff gears...

Took it for a spin and by god... Going up knockan hill was painful. Second gear compared to 5th with a change to 4th nearing the top before the swap.
