TD4 2002 later model 127500. Hello Gang.
My garage mechanic picked up a few concerns for oncoming MOT while doing my full servicing the other day. the inner NS CV boot split and the OS/NS oil seal driveshaft leaking. Now I could get the parts and have the chap do them no problem, but while I have my mileage high and not having props since who knows when. Would a complete driveshaft replacement for both be more advantageous for the long term. I notice from the variety suppliers the driveshaft seal side an added part or thicker section after inner boot, does this replace the need for the seal.

I don't know if I'm being thick. But I can't make much sense of what you are asking.

If your thinking of changing the driveshafts instead of just the boot, then don't, unless your shafts are vibrating. Cheap shafts are dreadful, so only use OE parts. The seals are just seals and not part of the driveshafts.
Or am I wrong on what you're asking?

No a good response actually. I was merely thinking that as I have no props anyway there must be some impact on the front driveshafts, So I will just get the CV Boot and seals. On another part the query when I looked at my parts disk the breakdown of the driveshaft is completely different compared with what on offer why that.
