Anybody used products from the above on the flebay? Were they any good? Or can recomend any other replacement.
Despite being worked on several occasions by my welder, my 28 year old drivers door is on its last leggs.

I re-skinned a set of 110 CSW doors in galvanised steel and swapped them with my old doors.
They were great when done but I started with some bad doors that needed a lot of welding to get them ready for the new skin.
Still got my old ones in the garage. Had thought about doing those too but not got round to it yet.

Nobody had one, well I have ordered one and will let know what it is like.
I would be interested in how you get on... I'm in a similar position... I was keen on the SP products... they offer steel skin, and galvanised frames, with marine bonding in between??
Keep us posted.

I have a set of galvanised doors from SP, very good product only slight fettling to get widow winder holder fitted, I had to make a couple of brackets for this.

Recived the door at the end of last week [ came quick] but been to busy clarking a 4x4 trial to report
The doors4defenders door looks well made with tidy welding and steel parts separated from the alli skin by a plastic sealer.A black undercoat is applied.
The box it came in was ok but could do with an extra layer of padding on the outer skin side to protect it,mine had a slight ding in it.
I have passed this info to the firm.

Had a quick reply from Doors4defenders saying they are aware of the packaging problem and are sorting it.
If that was a pothole on the road then the Council would be liable to pay for any damage caused to your vehicle if you hit it.

I know it's only a 'fender door but for a company to continue sending out products knowing they are likely to become damaged during transit is pretty poor. Did they offer any form of compensation??

The damage was very minor,a small shalow ding that undercoat would fill.Told them it was not a problem, they just they need to sort the packing.
You try getting our Council to pay for pot hole damage, not much chance unless it was a sink hole.

Sink hole for the Defender to become damaged yes. Cars with low profile tyres only need a sharp edge with an inch or so drop to damage them on national speed limit areas.
It's a long and drawn out process for pot hole damage but normally works if you have photos as evidence. The main problem is knowing you've done damage which isn't always apparent unless you've had a tyre or wheel failure.

Back to the doors. Is there any reason you went for non galvanised doors over galvanised other than cost?
Every time I open my back door more rust falls out and it's only a matter of time before it needs replacing!?

Cost was one factor, also as a working vehicle [ livestock farm ] there is a good chance the new door could soon have a dent or two in it [or worse]:( and I do not think I would like to see that on a nice SP door. Last month I nearly purchased a rear door but when I removed the checker plate door card I had put on a dozen years ago only the lower rail was in a bad way so I welded in a replacement rail and did some rust prevention and put it back.:)

Hopefully that will be what I find when I take my rear door apart then with any luck.

If the door frames are filled with dinitrol or similar I struggle to see why a normal steel frame couldn't last for as long as a galvanised one. They shouldn't look any different when fitted as long as they are as well made as they claim.

Will be interesting to see how your door fits!

Mines original door has lasted 28 years because it had had some treatment in the past. Will not be fitting door for some time,at least until winter is done and dusted.
