Door tops

Would a door top from a Series Landy (sliding glass type) fit onto a door which has the winedy glass type?

Obviously i will do away with the winedy bits but want to end up with the sliding glass and the 'lift up' type handles?

No...unless you bodge it with welds and then it defeats the point of having door tops.

Why dont you just get 2 part doors?? If your doors are in ok to good condition they will easily pay for 2 part doors...they fetch silly money on ebay...hundreds!!

2 part doors have a box section fitted to the top of the bottom section. 1piece doors don't you have to cut it in half then weld in a length of box section and drill the holes for the bolts on the top section to pass thru.

Just bin looking at your profile pic, do you have the black 'pull handle' on the inside or a 'pull up' type?

Me? I have the lift up type on outside, black button lock inside...but i also have a set of 2 piece doors...hehe

MMMM i just asumed i had the 2 piece doors! Can you tell from my profile pic?

The reason i want to change to the 'pull up type handles' on the inside is that the black handle type i have now are ****e and are keep needing adjusting to work properly!

No, ive got the same as you...but the others are cool in summer. Sounds like your catcher plate isnt sitting correctly.

Yu have 1 piece doors if they was 2 piece they'd have sliding windows. be a bit difficult winding a window down thru a solid steel box section door top.:doh:

Ebay but funnily enough they are often cheaper to buy new.

You need to put that in the for sale section...where are you..i may swap mine if yours are ok..i.e not rusted to ****. I'm over mid september if you can wait. Be in the mids and notts.

I had a look on Paddocks earlier and only list the 2 piece doors in the series section, would these fit me 90? As im sure the two piece doors wernt in the defender section???

Yes...but you need to get series door catchers and align them.

I had 2 piece doors on me 90 and they were the military ones. All the early 90/110's had 2 piece doors.

Cheers for that guys! Storm im near York which would have bin ideal for swapping with you but i could do with them sooner, was hoping to get them sorted for the MOT at the end of the month

If i end up bodging the mechanism to open from inside for the MOT i will take ya offer up as i wont be in as much of a rush to get them sorted!
