So, having fully stripped the landy, ready for its new door pillar sections and door pillar feet.
Last on the list is removing the doors and actually cutting out and replacing the pillars.
Having searched the web and forums, I just wanted some conclusive tips!
Are the feet tac welded to the pillars, or is the pillar tac welded to the bulkhead? (other than the obvious places I can see externally)

Best way of keeping the door allignment?
I was thinking, fit the door to the new pillar, close the door, tac weld the pillar in place?
How wrong am I?!

Any tips before attempting this would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks
James

No. The door can be adjusted afterwards.

IIRC, the foot is bolted between the outrigger and sills, then the door post slots over the top and the bottom hole where the wing bolts through which bolts them together. I think when it came to it I did a small tack-weld on the inside of the foot to door post. The pics here might help ..

My new (old) Defender .. ;)
