hi guys does anyone know the correct part number for the rh side door mirror glass? mine is a 2003 vogue, there are loads of part numbers on lr cat so not sure which i have. if it's any help mine has a slight crack which is getting worse by the day, the mirror has gone from clear to a almost tinted finish.

Dont know if it will help but the approach light under mirror changed from small round one to oblong about 2004 I think and the glass is slightly different shape and think they have blue tint, it just help you narrow it down a bit.

thanks KDS i've looked into it tonight and found i have the chromatic (auto dim) glass, didn't fancy the £200+ price tag for a bit of glass, anyway bit more digging turned out bmw x5 e53 has same mirrors as the l322, and i picked up a working used glass for £57.

Is that the heated one or is it just auto-dim? I ask because mine did the same, without a crack. It went a sepia colour, then the sepia started to retreat bit by bit, until now I have what looks like a brown spider's web in the centre of the glass.
If it's the heated, autodim, would you mind sharing the BMW part number. Thanks.

yes mine is heated & auto dim or electrochromatic as they like to call it, mine started as a small crack on the window side of the mirror, followed by the mirror gaining what looks like a brown tint but now the crack is spreading daily. i was lucky and did an ebay search for bmw x5 auto dim mirror, and found a used one for £57, best price i found was for a convex electrochromatic mirror crd000260 which is a pattern part from LR direct for £137 plus vat. i don't have the bmw part number as it isn't on the one i bought, but i'd guess bmw mirror glass will be a similar cost (euro car parts are quoting way over £250). its a bit of a gamble, but a lot of the replacement mirrors on ebay are quoting they fit the RR & e53 x5.

Thanks, I've seen some of the BMW ones but they're not electrochromatic and have a blue tinge to them :(
I was quoted £255 inc VAT and fitting. As I have just paid out over £600 on essentials and got more to go, a saving, even of £100 for glass, is a bonus. thumbs-up-sign_1f44d.png

definately, the blue tint are the standard heated only glass, at the cost of the mirror glass, you could buy a complete mirror off ebay, but it's a gamble to if you get the right one.
I did think about buying the complete unit, but there is also the added issue of some being colour coded or faded, etc. I think it's bite the bullet time and buy the glass from Rimmers.

it maybe worth calling your local bmw dealer and asking the price, they will ask for chassis number etc, i always say to them well it's actually for a bmw era range rover and tell them what i need if there isn't a part number and they are usually more than happy to help.

Just to update on this: I have just spoken to the stealer and according to the parts department, there are two part numbers that fit the earlier L322. The first is CRD000240 and the second is CRD000260. After checking, double checking and treble checking with parts guy, that CRD000240 is compatible with the Golden Girl, I have just bought , from the bay, replacement glass @£90 , rather than £245.
BTW the £245 is the lower price, including discount, for the 'older' 240 version.
Thanks to @Saint.V8 , for having the patience to explain to me , once again, the GCAT significance.
I hope the above info can be of use to others. :)
