Diver Side Speaker Problems

Hi could anyone possibly help with the following as I have no idea whats causing it. Car returned toady from a insurance repair job to rear drivers side wheel arch and I have noticed today that the two driver side main speakers do not work at all. Only the tweeters work front and rear on drivers side but cant understand why?
I have spoken with land rover and one two audio shops and none have any ideas. Thanks for your help

i have the same prob after getting the elect window regulator fixed

as no one seems to be able to help I took the car to an audio shop this morning. They said the speakers are nackered so I took the option to replaced the lot with new alpine ones of a better quality than Land Rovers ones. Cost £160 all in bit more than I wanted to pay but im fed up of messing around with the car here and there.Looks like it might be your only choice, however I dont trust everything these audio people say!

Hi there.

I have a 2002 Freelander GS, 3dr, with almost the same problem, no sound in LHS speaker, only tweeter.

Do I have to take the door trim off to get to the speaker, or is it possible to remove th ecover in front ?

Also, what size is the speaker, I was thinking of upgrading to a better brand of speakers, but didnt feel like taking the door apart to find the size ...

I've found that miosture tends to get to these speakers - with mine it was a case of corosion around the terminals which I was able to clean off - did the job, but if the speaker cones have been damaged then it may be a case of replacement of the whole speaker.
