My discos factory fitted Champion plugs were changed at a 24,000miles service, I then changed them again at 34,000miles still with like for like with Champion RN11YCC.
Then 6000miles later, just to see what the hype was with using NGK plugs I fitted NGK BRS6ES, so for the last 7,700miles my engine has used NGK plugs and I can honestly say I’ve seen no difference.

My RR ran with Champion plugs for the 110,00miles and 10+years without any ignition issues.

I also have a classic car so I changed the Motocraft plugs fitted for NGK, guess what... no difference. So another spare set of spark plugs placed on the garage shelf. :)

Thanks Discool.I think i will get a spare set of NGK plugs, do you happen to know the Gates reference number for the drive belt?,my Discovery has ACE and air con. I used this make in the past and found it good on my TD5. I think its LDV 7PK2710XS but cannot seem to get an answer from suppliers if its for ACE and air con Discoverys. I could see the previous owner had a new belt fitted 5k ago and last week the garage told me it was okay but showing signs of wear.So thought a good Gates belt would be good
thank you

Nope I’m sorry I don’t, my genuine part catalogues only cover D1s and early RRs :) but Gates are an OEM for Land Rover I believe. Rimmer bros do a colour parts catalogue For the D2 that u can down load which should have the part number. (Link below).

Gates K071065 or 7PK2710XS for AC & ACE.
What I use on my Thor V8 with AC and no ACE... Gates K070922 or 7PK2345.

I have just had a e mail back from Gates in Belgium telling me to use 7PK2710XS which is the same as ERR6896 they tell me....so what to do...thank you very much for the input........I just found them really good on my old series and TD5.Alot seem to be very poor quality.
