I tow my 26ft caravan and tow my tractor on a trailer with one of them tow bars and yes theirs some play in it , but they are great for setting up a twin axle trailer for towing

Same as mine, 3.5 tonne rating so it should be fine.

Is the play in the pin? or are yours two like this too? never towed a caravan before so double making sure this is 100% safe

You can rock/pivot the movable plate on mine but no real play in the pin itself. As long as its not wearing through badly it should be ok. If in doubt get a new pin.

I have an 8 month old Dixon Bate adjustable tow bar for fitting to air suspension disco 2's as recommended by Land Rover
If anyone's wanting one it's for sale

Hi no the pin seems fine wear wise! just the actual coupling you can rock up and down a bit but i take it this is normal? and its not on air its on springs not sure what difference this makes?

Thats normal then. And springs just means a little more manual adjustment of the pin height according to the height of your trailer hitch and the load in the disco itself.

Yes as others have said movement up and down a bit is normal. If its a twin axle caranvan just take the time on some level ground to get the hight right as your on springs . And dont be alarmed if it sounds a bit clunky when towing . That's normal for that type of adjustable hitch
