wondered if it was some of the members

look a great day

must admit wouldn't take mine through the deep water

as we all know about hydraulic lock,

There was a similar group on there when we were down there.

We assumed it was a group of bored Squaddies.

Looks a lot muddier and wetter than when we went down there.

Cheers

It's not the hyd. lock, it's the bloody electrics on a D3/4!!

i would be scared of both if i'm honest

take water up to the bottom of the sill when i open the door, wouldn't go any deeper than that

been there done that in destroying an engine through water ingress

made me nervous just watching them go into the deep water

was waiting for the clunk, one engine locked

701mm.................................KABOOM!!!!!!!!!:p:p

Cheers

they say more with a bow wave

i wouldn't risk it

water up to the sill and that's deep enough for me

wouldnt bother fitting a snorkel, as most of them are useless anyway in keeping water out

the air inlet is up quite high enough already and wouldnt dare push it that far

not worth it, in risking the engine

You say that, I suspect the first bit of deep water, and you will be in it like a 2 year old in paddington wellies....:p

Does the D3 have wading plugs?

Cheers

i've had my wading days , having water up and over the bonnet and also done a few engines in as well , so steer clear of water that will damage my landy

agree in my younger years i loved driving through water but then realise and learn real quick of it's dangers, inc what u can't see below the surface

always on the side of caution, so when i open the door if it's up the the door sill then that's deep enough and won't go any further

it already has all extended and raised breathers, on the diff, gearbox etc

Agree 100% - that'd be way far enough for me as well !

just have that rule , up to the sills and that's it, no further ,

think that's deep enough, as u end up in a world of pain in having to rectify the possible damage

that isnt laning, that is just churning up mud.:(

hope those motors are getting a good wash afterwards - that **** rots steel like mad

maybe a quick sheep dip, lol

there useto be one course many years ago near brands hatch that was brilliant

they had all different obstacles , really putting the traction and articulation to work

really enjoyed it

They would have crushed it. The MoD is known for it if off piste.

didn't they actually do that a good few years ago

where some people thought it would be funny to leave there cars on the plain, so the army used a tank and blew them up

this was some 20 x years ago, how true it i don't know

however it wouldn't suprise me

imagine these days it would be very difficult to stray onto mod land without being challenged extremely quickly by the mps
