Discovery not coming to tempature

Hi, my 1996 Discovery 300 TDI does not run at tempature. What I mean is that the gauge does not reach half way, it runs about a quarter of the way up, if that. Does anyone know why this is and is it a major problem? It runs fine and the heater works ok.

Thats normal 200tdi are the same dont wory about it just drive and enjoy,only worry when its getting hot.

Check to see if the thermostat is actually there and if it is working properly,also possibly the viscous fan is "locked up" as well , both will give overcooling . Regards Jonathan

Mine only reaches about 1/4 way up -heater works fine-the viscous fan has been removed and in boot 12 months ago

You need a new thermostat - about £4 from Paddock Spares. Takes 10 mins to fit.
