Hi, I’m new here. Just bought my first project! Discovery 4 2010. I was advised to post out for help and support. I’ve enjoyed the replies and they have been really valuable.

I’m installing some new d-pillars, I have two connections behind the pillars. One is for the speaker mounted in the pillar, the other is a yellow connector but I have no idea what it’s for. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to LZ. :)

That sounds like one for @gstuart .

I will try and get your question moved to a more appropriate section of the forum.

Are the curtain air bags present?
I think Gary had a similair problem with his D3 some time ago.

Hi let me have a quick read and will answer for u

Had a look

Just going to put ur picture next to mine when I replaced my curtain airbags

Wondering if ur airbag has been linked out but can’t quite see the second connector, unless the first connector broke , but don’t see why they’ve linked looms together , something isn’t right there

Can u take a better picture for me please, also a picture with the D pillar removed so it includes the bottom of the airbag silver canister please ,

Assume this is the drivers side

As u can see I had to tear mine apart and replace curtain airbags and all sorts of things

Thks and always happy to help so will wait for ur pics plse and can then pin it down what those leads are

Also the radios ECU sits up above the rear side glass but will know more when I see the other pics plse , thks

Just been looking through the wiring manual

Checking the wires , one is for the speaker , other is curtain airbag

Will wait till u take some more pics please so I can 100% confirm some other things that are around, one thing is to ensure the airbag is plugged in, if it’s not please , please don’t just plug it back in but come back here , cheers

Thks for the heads up

Indeed looks like the RH airbag wire and speaker , but asked the OP for some pics behind the D pillar so I can then see more details

Unfortunately was a big learning curve as I had to start replacing faulty airbags and broken wires , lol

Correct, it pins into the airbag cylinder. I was looking for a similar connector on a wire. The other side had been cut so I couldn’t see it. Thanks for all the help, appreciated.
