Discovery 300tdi electrical headaches!

Hi all, new to these forums having purchased my first Land Rover, a 97 300tdi. It has come with a few problems the most irritating of which is random electrical failures.
When I purchased it there were several things not working, no problem I thought, just work through them, check the fuses etc. But to no avail.
Then one day all of a sudden, the things began to work, then the next day not work! They then came back again for a couple of weeks but have now stopped working again, this is very frustrating and I was wondering if this is a common problem?
The items in question are;
Rear wiper.
Courtesy light-when doors open(All the door switches work OK)
Intermittant wipe mode.
Wipe when you use the screen wash.
Fog lights
Rear screen heater
Ignition key locator light around the key hole.
Lights left on alarm
Door open alarm

All other electrics seem to be working fine, however I have also had a couple of random interior light failing to go out problems and also the windscreen wipers not stopping events!!

It's getting a bit annoying now so any ideas to try would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Multi function unit looks after what u have listed. Could be iffy supply fuses (2) or the connection for the unit or the unit is faulty. It can be found pluged into the rear of the fuse box.

Thanks for the replies guys, have tried the MFU test but there is no beeping so I guess it is faulty

hi i have the same problems if your mfu is amr1280 you can get them cheap of ebay or a scrap yard if like mine is amr 5360 good luck. i have got three of them but have not fix the problem when i do i will be selling two of them. hope this helps
