Hi i have recentley bought a tidy N reg Discovery for the winter for work etc, and i am very happy with it.

but it has a problem with the air con fans, (i think thats what they are just infront of the radiator?) they are on constantley whenever the ignition is on, and they only turn off when i remove the key.

it wasnt doing it when i collected the car from the previous owner, it just started doing it yesterday while i was driving it home after buying it!

is there a fuse i can remove to turn them off and where is it located, as i am not too bothered about air con and they are quite noisy anyway.

any help is much apreciated, and sory if i have posted in the wrong forum.

Nreg would that be a 200 or 300 series disco? there is a fuse u can remove on both models but on the 300 it shares the fuse with the electric windows.
If your disco is overheating they will also come on, the tempreature sensor in in the thermostate housing so just unplug.

And WELCOME to the Forum

hi, thanks for the reply it is a 300 series, and no it is not over heating, the temprature gauge sticks nicely at about half way and they come on from cold as soon as i turn the ignition on

i have found a fuse for it on the small panel next to the battery, the fuse is for air con fans/comp clutch.

i guess the comp clutch has something to do with the air con? if so i think that is problem fixed :)
