Hi all you experts out there. I have a problem with my disco 3 2.7 2007
I can drive from norfolk to Scotland with no error message on dash
but when i switch engine off error message ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT comes up
i can still drive ok but at reduced power
when engine has cooled down error message disappears and car drives ok again.
message only appears when engine is warm but I can drive all day but when i switch off
and restart message reappears
I have changed the AIR INTAKE TEMP. SENSOR
got a feeling it might be turbo
anyone any ideas

Hi

Have u got any form of diagnostics as indeed with these vehicles being complicated they are a must

As basic check, clean out ur MAP sensor , don’t poke anything down the hole of the MAP sensor , is located in the Y shaped throttle body , check ur intercooler hoses for any splits

Do u get any smoke when driving

When was the fuel filter last changed

Ref the turbo, u would feel limp mode and would come up on the dashboard, it would dramatically cut the engine power

Also if I may add, ensure the belts and oil pump cover has been replaced , from 2007 there are big issues with the oil pump covers having weak casings and do break which will would cause irretrievable damage , wished to give u a heads up in case it hasn’t been done

Hope that helps a little, as if after those basic checks will need diagnostics

Hi checked a few things
Cleaned MAP SENSOR
I have no smoke out of exhaust
had a diagnostic done at a garage
It came up with turbo supercharge error
But the turbo is kicking in fine
Message never came on for 2 days
And then pops on
Car looses power but as soon as cooled down all is fine again and I can do miles with no message

Hi
There were no codes on the dash
Only message ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT!
The sensor I cleaned was under the top engine cover
Thanks
