4 months ago I fitted a set of Terrafirma standard height shock absorbers, since then the car has felt a little unsteady and tram-lined on the motorway, after changing many other parts, i.e re-bushing, new watts linkage, new steering box, new track rod ends, new anti roll bars, new tyres and tracking done the problem improved but was still there, culminating with dangerous handling with the a caravan attached to the point where at 50mph I thought I was going to tip over, with the car behaving like it was on a see-saw.

So I decided to look at the shock absorbers again and the video below shows what I found.
Is it me or are these behaving wrong?

Terrafirma shocks are sh*T lately... i replaced mines last year and after less than a year they were shot, was a bit short of money at that time due to other investments and i took a chance with britpart cellular dynamics and big surprise, i'm 100% pleased with them, they were better from the beginning like the new terrafirmas...i know the sh*tpart myth but in this case IMO it's an exception

I agree regarding the terrafima quality, I fitted 4 of their +5" to one of my defenders and within months 2 were leaking and the pin snapped off one of them, they replaced them with no hassle. Thinking it may of been a one off I foolishly bought these for the Disco, but the lack of rebound on them is shocking, they have done less than 2000 mile, they have assured me they will replace them, but Im not sure I want another set, Im thinking Bilstein or Koni in future

One has lost it's gas the other three are weak. Shockers that have been stored on their side should be exercised in their fitted attitude for their full travel several times before fitting to prime them. A better test would be to depress them and stand them upright, shockers should never be exercised on their side. Standard shocks are just as good as the so called up market ones if properly exercised and fitted.

They were primed prior to fitting back in April, and were only on there side to allow filming

OK but standard shocks will do the job, no need for fancy after market stuff. There is a lot of eastern sh!t about these days even in genuine boxes. It's a bloody lottery.
