Went out to the the land rover today and discovered I had an indicator out nipped to Halfords picked up a new bulb and got them to fit it. Guy informed me bulb was fine put it back together now all the indicators don't work!! had a go at the guy and he checked fuses saying they are all good. I find it odd that all ba r one was working 5 mins later all off! Any ideas?

When you say ALL, do you mean LH and RH? have you tried the hazards?

I am sure the guy at Halfords was so happy to be shouted at.:oops:

Cheers

Yeah LH and RH and no hazards. originally was the drivers side front that went out hence why i thought it was just a bulb.

Can't really fault the halfords fitter didnt look like he done anything untoward simple enough to change the bulb. His manager on the other hand shrugged his shoulders as if to say what do you want me to do to, thats when i started going off on one.:mad: fitter stepped in and came back to the car he was really helpful going through fuses checking nearside bulb ect

Might be worth checking fuse 14 in the engine bay.

Its a T reg 1999 ill go out and have a look at fuse 14 he spent more time digging about under the steering wheel than the engine bay.

To be fair, the Disco 2 electrics can appear to be somewhat over-complicated, and without the diagrams, the Halfrauds fitter can't be expected to know every system employed in every vehicle.
Apart from which he'd probably be more at home with the systems of a Ford Focus or a Renault Clio than a 1999 Disco.

Looks like the indicator connection was the root of the problem (water getting into it)

At the end of the day the fitter is just that a fitter. it seems he ultimately blew fuse but he couldn't of been anymore helpful he spent a fair bit of time trying to sort it out. All's well that ends well ;)

I always wonder why people say frauds, what exactly are people saying they are fraudulently doing ?
They sell fairly decent diy tools with a lifetime guarantee for a good price, sell good priced consumables aswell.Cant see the fraud myself.
Or is it a word produced by forum mechanics who claim they are better than their fitters? Discuss lol

Get a trade card and there are some reasonable savings to be had, especially on a Sunday when all the others are closed.

Cheers
