Discovery 2 Relay R9 clicking

Hello,

I have a 2003 Disco 2 TD5 and over night it seems I have a problem arise. Relay R9 will not stop clicking
and the vehicle just cranks with no sign of firing. I also cant get and comms with the ecu but I haven't been able to do that for some time.

I was just looking if there is any common faults or if anything similar has happened to anyone in here stemming from that relay fault??

I'd replace relay R9 for starters.
And is your battery up to snuff?

I've swapped the relay with the ABS relay and its exactly the same. Yes is did drain the battery but I thought it was because of the relay clicking. Ive charged the battery back up and cranks the vehicle perfectly so the battery has plenty of beans.

Most common is bad contact in the fusebox's connector where the relay's coil circuit is linked but it can be internal crack in the fusebox or problem on the relay's coil path from the ECM, start with the fusebox, very similar problem solved in the following thread, read it all: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/2002-disco-2-non-starter.350651/

Followed that thread exactly and found pretty much exactly the same results. New fuse box arrived today and its all back online!
