Discovered what the magic red button does...

When I bought Rory a couple of months back you may recall I posted a thread asking if anybody knew what the quite important looking illuminated red button did on the dashboard... it was pretty inconclusive, and having pressed it whilst driving and it seemingly not doing anything I had pretty much given up on it. Until today when I was playing around with the lights and realised one set of lights on the back didn’t work... I pressed the red button because why not, and it and it turns out it is a rear mounted scene light... so this begs the following questions...

1) does anybody know where such a light kit comes from so I can work out how the heck it’s wired in?

2) doyou think I could splice some other lights into it like a roof mounted LED bar?

Guessing splicing a roof bar light into it won’t work particularly well as it would mean having a bright white light on the back of the car too
