Hi guys, a little while ago while servicing the car, I found that the front camshaft oil seal was so old that it was loose in it's mounting and leaking oil.
I ordered a new one from Paddocks and did the job today, here's how:
1. Remove the plastic engine cover and the fan cover;
2. Remove 2 small screws that retain some cabling just in front of the seal, for easier access.
3. Remove the old seal - if yours is like mine it falls out !!!
4. Coat the new seal with engine oil and install. I found I needed to use a surprising amount of force to get the new one in so I used some wood as a drift and my trusty lump hammer and she went home a good'un. I'm hopîng this means there will be a good oiltight seal.
See attached pic for location.
