hi, i've got a 1999 td5 gs 7-seater, the air suspension compressor keeps running after the ignition is switched off. Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening!!!!

The relay wich feeds the compressor used to remain blocked(the simple fault), follow step by step the "path" described below

When compressor operation is required, the SLABS ECU supplies an output
feed from pin C0655-6 on an NP wire to the engine compartment fusebox. The
feed is connected to the coil of the SLS relay (R5)closing the relay contacts. The
coil is connected from the fusebox on a B wire, via header C0286 LHD/
C0288 RHD to earth header C0018.
The feed from fusible link 9 passes through the relay contacts and is connected
from the engine compartment fusebox on a WB wire to the SLS compressor.
The compressor is connected on a B wire, via splice joint A47, to earth eyelet
connector C0811-1.

If not, the easy way is to explore the SLABS ECU with a scanner, it*ll tell U where the fault is.

Check your airbags very carefully for leaks - if you have them you will wear out the compressor very quickly.

If in doubt replace your bags £63+vat each from Paddocks and do both. Very easy job to do.

I appreciate that this is not exactly the reply you might be looking for, but if your bags leak to the extend that the compressor is going all the time, it will bust the compressor and they are a lot more expensive.

Most owners now considor airbags as consumable and replace every 5 yrs, along with the ride height sensors.

I had simmaler problems with mine couldnt find any leeks, Biglad adviced changeing bags i thaught its not a problem all the time must be compressor, ride height sencors, the weather, volcano ash,i changed the bags no more problems
