Due to the fact that i dont have anyone local to go off road with and that i want to do some long distance trips im after a rear winch bumper for a discovery 2?

i cant seem to find anything anywhere, if anyone knows of anythink or knows how to modify a different one would be much appreciated!

many thanks mpower

i have a ground anchor which would help in some situations and its so i can pull my self back out of the **** instead of pulling my self further into it.

its not really a topic of whether its a good idea or not its more of a case of im planning on getting one, and i need help sourcing one or if anyones got any ideas on how i can modify/fabricate a different one.:D

What the boot floor?

wont be able to do that on the disco i dont think as its got the fuel tank directly under neath it?

As said rear winches need the removal of the fuel tank Usually replaced with an ally tank in the loadbay. winch is fitted between chassis legs. with an hole cut in rearcross member for cable to pass thru. Well that's how me mate's bobtailed Disco was done.

I realise you'd like a winch but A tirfor woud be easier more verstatile and can be used on other vehicles if required.,

Oh right what's a "tirfor" mate?

Winch tray is designed to fit a defender?? you'll have to cut a lump out of the door or risk grounding the winch when offroading. if you try to fit a winch into the rear bumper.

I didn't actually mean that one! I just meant in general a tray welded in!

I'm going to take my front winch bumper off Tommorow and see how I could mount it to The back and see what I got to modify to get a front winch bumper to fit the back! I'll let you know how I get on!

seems alot of hassel matey to me. Atleast the tirfor would be easy to use, no cuting, no removing fuel tanks. But as said its your disco. Good luck with pal and keep us up to date with it.
