hi all i have a 99 disco 2 es the rear door is really stiff to open/close ive tried oiling it numerous times but its still hard to open/close any advice thanks.

Apart from the obvious pair of hinges, there's also the stay in the bottom right hand corner. That needs oiling too. The doors are always very heavy to open and need a good slam to close properly (unless there's a window open).

When the hinges really wear, the bottom left of the door can catch on the bumper top plate - you'll see the scuffing in the bottom left corner if that's the case. New hinges at that point, I believe.

The rear door hinges really need grease nipples fitting, as once they get rusty inside, you cannot get any lubricant to the pins.

We've been dosing ours up weekly with WD-40 and it is slowly working its way inside.

The door stay as BoldreChris mentioned needs attention, and the stay pin at the back of the car needs to be kept oiled/greased, as does the sliding part under the door.

When I get a minute I'm going to drill and tap our two hinges for grease nipples to see if we can force some grease through.
