Disco 2 rear door won't open

Hi all,
My 02 D2 rear door won't open. I've looked at the various threads on this subject however my circumstances are slightly different (I think). I put the child lock on and tried to close the door. It wouldn't close thou. i checked the latch, obstructions etc and on the 3rd attempt it closed. Now I can't get it open. The lock is unlocking/locking via the central locking. I've oiled the external handle, removed the interior door card and oiled the latch etc but nothing seems to work. Admittedly I only oiled everything about 30 mins ago.
Does anyone have any ideas please?

can you open door from inside silly question i know, mine did same thing ended up replace the full latch assy.

Unfortunately, although some people have said it's possible to strip and repair the door latches on the Disco 2, from my own experience it's not really a viable route to take. If it proves that you do have faulty door latches the only sensible course of action will be to replace them.

It’s open now but only after I conceded defeat and put it into JSF in Norwich. They had to dismantle the latch from inside and fit a new latch.
