I've had a series 2 00' commercial disco for 3 years now. She was parked up for a few weeks and regularly checked for starting. 2 days after the last check, when going to start her she seemed completely dead? Tried to jump down hill, no good, tried to jump start and alarm goes off, lights flash and a 0 with a / through it comes up on the dash. I'm guessing its the immobiliser, but the key fob never worked and haven't got a clue what the code is for to put in the key code in the door lock manually. Anyone any ideas please please??? Ps. i havent got a clue about mechanic'in so please talk in simple terms! much apresiated!

If the red led is rapidly flashing your only chance is to go to a main dealer with the papers of your car and ask for the EKA then introduce it acording to the protocol....sorry, i dont see other option as long as your fob doesnt work

thanks, might have to get her up on a low-loader alright! the red light isn't flashing though, not even on. The only new thing is the 0 with a / through it!

That's the gearbox indicator flashing. Possible problem with the BCM under the drivers seat, or a lack of communication between BCM and dash pod.

New battery in the key? I assume you tried that ages ago?

Disconnect battery and wait for a while perhaps?

Hi

I have the same problem, it appears to be the immobiliser the red LED is flashing and there is vibration sound (like a mobile phone ) behind the radio column. My mechanic wants me to change the BCM however before I undergo this large expense I was looking for some 2nd opinions.

Thanks,

Matt

describe what happenned...did the fob fail to work, you opened with key and then the alarm went off? ...or what?

this issue must be well diagnosed before you replace the BCU(cos that's the correct name of it(body controll unit) .... do you know the EKA code?

Hi the fob doesn't work so I usually open with the key, but this time I hadn't locked the door between turning ignition off and attempting to start up again. I know the EKA code but I have been unable to get it to work and I followed the instructions properly.
