On my Y reg Discovery 2 the drivers side rear passenger door lock will not unlock when you double click the key fob. All the other doors unlock ok. If I get inside the car I can open the door and the little bit pops up. When I lock it again and try to unlock it with the key it wont pop up or unlock. I can hear a noise in that door when I click the key though

Any of you clever chaps got any idea what this might be.

Thanks

Dennis

It can be that the plastic is popped out at the actuator if you are lucky. I took mine apart and fixed it but after a few months it went again. I put a second hand in and it worked fine since.

There is a fix but it didn't work long for me. There are two electric motors in the actuator. One for locking and one for super lock. You can use the motor from the super lock for the locking one by just swapping the motors. this disables the super lock but I didn't care about that. Only worked for a while for me though,

I would first take the door card off and feel if nothing popped out. I just bit the bullet and bought one after it stopped working again.

Many thanks for all your help. I have booked it in to have the actuator replaced. £85 for the part and £45 to fit. Not cheap but reasonable I thought for the fitting. I am not going to risk messing things up for £45 by trying to do it myself. I might ask for the old part to see if I can repair it
