Disco 1 auto box problem

Hi every1 been a while since ive been on here, ive got chance of a nice 300tdi disco auto but theres a problem with the gearbox. all forward gears work but no reverse at all. will it need a new box? or is it something simple like oil needs changing? ive done a search but cant find anything. Thanks

could be xyz switch on side of box were cable joins or clutch pack are we talking disco one box as if check colour of oil

yeah disco 1, its a 98 model mate

clutch pack b or rear most ,b can be checked repaired just by removing bell housing and pump housing other needs complete strip ,b could be done diy easily

expensive job do ya think, ill do it my self but are the parts expensive? does the box need to come off? thanks

yes box needs to come off ,if just clutch b plates probably £50 if you did it £200ish if worse and needed another box

ok thanks for the help, there wanting a grand for it. is very very clean so might be worth the gamble
