Disable fuel burning heater.

Hi,
My fuel burning heater is still coming on each time the engine is cold. Think the temp sensor has had it.

To disable the fbh I've taken out fuse 5.
This has stopped the fbh coming on.
Is it safe to just leave out the fuse over the summer, or does fuse 5 control other things?

Petrol or diesel? Age?

You could of course just look in your handbook. The section at the back is quite good for advising what fuses supply what devices. Suffice it to say that if everything else seems to still work you're probably OK.

It's a 2004 td4.
Everything seems ok at the moment. Will dig out the handbook and check.

Other option is to remove the sensor. The sensor effectively acts as a switch. It is a bitch to get at though, so much so that I didn't bother replacing mine even though I had actually gone through the effort of buying the part.

I still have a project to do this summer. add a remote fob to my FBH so that i can blip it on from in the house and return to a defrosted warm car

All the plans are drawn up, just need to get my arse in gear and do it
