dip stick question!

I've just replaced a home made (previous owner) lower intercooler pipe with a genuine 200tdi one but the dip stick pushes on the upper hose. Is the dip stick in the correct position? If not how do I move / bend the dip pipe?

Have found out that a new tube costs about a fiver. I need to work out if mine is in the correct location or should it be on the wing side of the intercooler to turbo hose?

Anyone got a photo of a defender 200tdi engine showing the dip stick tube?
