Diff splines

I have a 1990 3.9 v8 classic automatic with abs.

I have been told I may need a new front diff soon, I will be getting a good used one from Martin toole.

Question is which one 10 or 24 spline?

I dont want to start having to take stuff to bits to find out,nor do I want to book it in/drop it off to be done only get a phone call once its in bits telling me I have got the wrong one! :doh:

Any help greatly appreciated!

i think the cover plates are a different shape.

Ok so which are which? and what do they look like?

if you ring a main stealer with your chassis number he will tell you what diff you got in there mate.
and that old pirate martin will know just by looking at it. just gonna call him to ask him

not quite sure.the old classic axles had a more pronounced bulge.i think the newer ones also hold more oil.
