I had a UJ fail and whilst I was waiting for the new ones to arrive I removed the front prop and drove with diff lock engaged.

Today I replaced the UJ and reinstalled the front prop. Only problem I have now is I can't disengage diff lock.
I have drove backwards/forwards etc and have even jacked up the front wheel to remove any wind up and still I cant disengage it.

It's now making me wonder if the lever is working.
Any ideas on what to try?

The weird thing is when we had all that snow, the diff lock worked fine.

No. I know the diff lock is engaged because when I jack up a wheel it spins as the wind up is released and after I cannot turn it by hand (I assume if diff lock was disengaged the jacked wheel should spin freely). I have also had to leave it parked out on the road because when as I start to turn the sharp bend onto my drive I can hear the drivetrain taking strain.

you can take it out of diff lock by turning 13 mm spanner size nut on t/box were linkage goes to ,most of the time linkage needs adjusting on eyelet pivot bolt screws in/out to set equally for in/out or switch if wound in too far can stop selector moving

The difflock is defenitly working otherwise you would have no drive when running on the back axel alone. I think its a linkage problem which wont cost any money but a little bit of time. Take the center tunnel out from over the gear leavers and have a look and I'd bet its 3 hours striping 10 minutes fixing and 2 hours replacing.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing now after a bit of research. Although I have used the diff lock in the past for short periods, I have never used it constantly engaged for a week before.

I bet the screws for the centre tunnel are seized and rusted too! I'd better find my impact driver. lol

Get it fixed before you ruin the transfer box or one of the diffs because they cost time and lots of money, best of luck.
