hi i have just got a defender 90 200tdi im having problems with the diff lock light its not coming on it seams like the diff lock is working but no light (checked and changed bulb) is there a switch in the box that might be faulty or what should i check for many thanks graham

there is a switch on the back of the transmission box i think its in the haynes manual

Probly the trailing wire from the back of the tranny to the dashboard came loose and got yanked out by getting twisted round a propshaft. You dunt really need it!

can you adjust the switch ?? if its not the switch what could it be ??

its a switch and you have to take your gear tunnel out to get at it....more than likely its a wire off somewhere....take knobs off insulation out carpet out matts out fuse cover out then remove 14 odd bolts that hold the tunnel on...its underthere.
