after some details of removing the breather pipe on a rear diff after i found new seal leaking

i would like to take it out and check it and flush any crud out of it but also dont want to break it

Had a look at a spare rear diff I have last night (original v6 type). I pulled on the pipe carefully and it came out. Pulls straight up when mounted on a car. It sits in a red collar, which also pulls out separately after. The collar sort of clips in the metal diff hole. I have a pic it you want to see it first.

Bottom left bit plugs into the diff.

And all I need to do is pull up on the black tube
Yes. That's what I did. There is a fair bit of resistance but it just pulled out. I held the tube so the pressure was even across a section of it, rather than a 2 finger pinch.

It's a pull lock fitting so pulling will make removal harder. Push the red collar onto the diff, this will allow the tube to slide out freely.
