diesel or v8

right. got this hybrid thingy and i need your thoughts.

a) iv got a v8 efi. i know it to be a gooden as i removed if from me mums disco when i rolled it. it only got 40k and is complete. problem is beyond acctually getting it working ihave no idea about how to service it what with all the black boxes.

b) i put a cheap diesel or td out of a 90/110 and run it till it popps and then replace it with another of the same. i know these engines well and they dont phase me however i look at that gurt 3.9 and auto box with all its wiring spread every where an it genuinly makes me feel sick thinking about where to start.

at the moment there is a knakerd v8 inthere on a s3 box, not plumed in atall. just sat in there. what would you do?

all opinions gratfully reiceved as i cant choose between power and simplicity.

not exactly, i prefer to think of my self more as a preserver of the land rover mark, or private collector of scrap mostly.
i was having a big clearout this month, so ibought a 90 and hybrid project to celebrate.
