Diesel leak through fuel cap lock

Hi - I seem to have a leak through my fuel cap, and it looks like it is coming through the lock. Result is the diesel triangle of shame on the rear quarter...

Have recently changed the cap but same problem exists... Both old and new cap are vented. Any ideas welcome!

Me too. Think it's just one of those 'things' !

An uneducated quess is:- My fuel tank does not have vent pipe to atmosphere. It vents to the filler pipe. I believe the cap does the venting. Therefore, its an unfortunate effect of the tank venting via the cap!?
