hi to all at landy zone. at about 130000 they say the bearing on the fan pulley will go. im on about that amount of miles now. a new timming cover where the bearing is held is about 300 pounds but the bearing is about 5 pounds has any one done this job, cus i need the the bearing number so i can order the bearing before its in bits land rover parts dealers will only sell you the timming cover:confused: this will be a good test for the power of this site . thanks

take the bearing to any decent bearing specialist, and they will sell you the direct replacement part.

Place unit in vice. Remove nut This is left hand thread. Remove circlip from groove.Press out old bearing press in new. Replace circlip in groove Tighten LH thread nut.DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE SPRING FROM ITS UNIT. yOU ARE NOW READY TO REPOSITION UNIT.---BB

thanks for advice, i will try haddocks, you mentioned a spring in a unit. news to me. i tried adjusting my turbos rod end yesturday now that was a hard job, got there in the end, i adjusted the nut right up to the stop which give me 1.0 bar of pressure, need a bit more i think ( my turbo must be on its last legs)

Try cleaning out your inlet manifold and connecting pipes. Pull of the the pipe clip from the pipe that goes into the manifold and have a look.

Remember to buy a new gasket for refitting.

thanks, i will have a look at the inlet manifold. i know the inlet manifold gets very hot, which undoes all the good work my billy big intercooler has done. may be theres a thick nylon gasket i can use, which might insulate the heat from the engine.

If you are having problems with turbo get nov issue of Land Rover Owner international it has an article on turbos with lots of technicolor pictures, might be handy.------BB
