Hi all, has anyone had problems with premature failure of the delphi lift pump. I replaced my old pump on my defender with a delphi 4 weeks and 600 miles ago and it's gone. Usual symptoms of no power under load, no leaks or air leaks and revs well when in neutral.

Strange you say that, I was at billing last Year and there was a group next to us, one of the guys broke down in His D1 300tdi on the way to the show.
He fitted a brand new Delphi lift pump when he got to the show, nothing........after working on it for a while, he found a second hand one on the junk stall. fitted it and hey presto it ran.

So in answer to your question, Yes I have heard of them failing or in this case not working out of the box.

Cheers
