Defender power steering pipes

Got to connect the power steering pipes up on the 90 tomorrow.

Problem is that I dont think that the 200 pipes will fit the 300 pump

Please tell me that I'm wrong ..

You will need pipes from 300, are you using 4 bolt box?

its a 1990 90 not sure.

the pipes fit the box cause I ve tried em. just not sure aabout pump end.

I think the pipes that fit the 300 may not fit a 6 bolt box.

They do fit the box that is on the 90.

Perhaps I could swap the pumps instead

The pumps are not mounted on the same way on both engines and are different pumps so you will need pipes for your 300 or get some made, you say the pipes fit the box but presumably they are the pipes that came out of box so will fit the problem you may have is that if you have a 6 bolt box they were never in a 300 so no standard pipe available but if you have 4 bolter you can order 300 90 pipes and your sorted.

Got a Disco steering box from a 1994 model...or I can get some pipes from somewhere and splice the two together..or.. I can do away with the power steering and manage without it, I'm a man after all

Your disco box will be a 4 bolt so if it is a 6 in your 90 fit it, pipes from disco should even work too, if you have them off disco.

I seem to have the same issue. The box I fitted is defo 4 bolt, and pipes I have fit to that no probs. Pump is different fitting tho. Engine is 200tdi Disco fitted when I got it, and assume pump is from that also. Will 300tdi pipes fit?

Which pipes are you strugling with?

Not lookin good this.

I think I'll put the disco steering box on and get a 300 disco pipe from pump to steering box.

For the life of me I can't remember which one it is. It didn't have PAS when I got it, but someone had made a start fitting the pump and reservoir. Fluid was just circulating through both. I picked up a decent box and fitted it. Then got the pipes off a mate. Three ends fitted but one at the pump didn't. Its been sitting like that for a few months now, but need to get round to fixing it. Tried a local hydraulic hose firm to make new ones but no go.

Check what you have/ need and i will do my best to help with missing link, should be able to get pre-maid pipe to do the job

6 bolt and 4 bolt pas boxes are same pipe fitting 3 bolt different ,pumps have different high pressure pipe fitting ,input has hose clip so can be easily altered ,if you have 300 engine then thats the high pressure pipe you need likewise with 200
