hello

Could anyone tell us what the air intake one the front of the defender, above the indicator and below the side light is for. we don't know and would like to know for an task set by our lecturer.

any comments are greatfully received

er? can you show us a picture? left or right hand drive? on the outside or inside? very confusing thread... if you mean the air intake on the wingtops. the left hand one is usually to supply the heater box for heating the cab. the right one does nothing. (RHD)

The vent is located next to the main headlight on the front of the vehicle. it is ine every defender since 1998 and is on both left and right hand drive models. there is one on both sides of the car.

No, on the new models the headlight surround has a small vent grill between the indicator and side light. I personally think it is purely for styling purposes as it can serve no purpose other than let water in to the wiring around the headlights

i believe if you're talking abt a Td5 front lamp grill, the tiny 'gills' between the turn indicator and small light is for the horn. maybe place your ear there and try.

heard it somewhere before, don't whack me if it's not true. ha ha.

i have now been told the same thing by someone else who i spoke to and they also said it is for the horn, due to air conditioning being fitted.

thank you for the help

Dan
