Defender - Fitting Range Rover seats

Range Rover seats in a Defender
Just got mesel' a set of rear range rover back seats for the bus (Def 110)
What ah'd like to know is, how do ah go about securing them? The bottom looks as if it might be straight forward, but what about the top/side mount? Can probably get the striker/ securing bracket things if needs be.

Anybody got piccies of bracketry for these seats? Bin doin' my head in and costin' a fortune on beer tryin' tae suss it out!!!

just took these piccies of the seats in place, doesn't look too bad, but now I'm gettin' desperate tae fit thum

Now that looks cracking, and is not something I had ever thought of before.

Normally the seats are locked in place by a 'door lock' type mechanism, mounted on the bodywork.

These I guess would be available from a Rangie (or Disco 1) breaker, and could be mounted on suitable braketry to the cab sides.

Alternatively, does anyone know which BL derived clunker (for thast is doubtless the source) these parts where nicked from, as they will no doubt be cheaper and easier to source from the breaker if that is known.

but there ain't any pics of the bottom mounts. He did say somewheres about using a flat piece of metal and a roof rack knurled thingy. Thought the bottom mounts were going to be easy but when ye get the seats in, it's a diffrunt story, too many lids in the way!!! Gonna get in touch with the guy ah bought the seats from and see if he's still got the mounts that were built into the body.

Twas a 1986 RR, dunno wot model 'cos badges were missin' along with the drop-down rear door and some body work but it had leather seating, front seats were motorised, and had some walnut (?) trim. Seems tae have bin a good motor in it's day but sadly neglected. If ye're lookin' fur seats, Ah think the RR classic is a good bet, or so Ah've bin told

so here's an update

well the new ones will be a big improvement then .. found a way to stop them sliding out the door when you go round a corner yet

Aye, just keep the doors shut
Thur no gantae slide anywheres, they canae cos thur fixed tae the box section welded tae the fixed plate!!!

So you cant move them at all .. or can you still move the drivers seat back & forward

Nope, ye cannae move thum cos it's the back seats oot a RR and the 'drivers' seat is attached tae the middle yin.

does it not need to move to pass the mot !!

Cheers fur that Just had a quick squint masel' and the only thing ah've tae sort oot is the top mounts. Front will be solid and where the feet are at the back, ah've made up some bracketry tae push a length of box section throo and secure the seats in place. A bit like this...

ah now i see where your coming from . that looks as if it should work As long as its secure i cant see any problems , should be very comfortable too..
but a bit cauld under the kilt in the winter

Aye ah'm hopin' sae Ah think wot ah'm doin is maybe over kill, but better safe than sorry Had a wee run tonight and it's defuntly a lot comfier than wot was there before. Cannae wait tae try it wi' the kilt on....MMMMMMMMMMMMM LEATHER!!!!!
